Hiccups

Well, I'm sad to say that our closing might possibly be postponed. It all started with the worst auction company to ever call themselves an auction company: R.E.I.B.

After PROMISING us none of the public would be allowed in the house and there would be portable toilet facilities, there were not. Our already worn-out carpet was tracked with mud and dirt all day as people roamed through our house like it was up for auction. The public also used the bathrooms. I write it as plural because there are 3 bathrooms in our new home and each and every one was defiled. Again and again and again.

The auction people also did not regulate the buyers when they were picking up large purchases back behind the house. We are pretty confident someone drove over the lateral field and backed up the septic tank. Yes, it is disgusting as you think. Luckily it isn't in the house. Yet.

We called our realtor and got a video camera to record the damages. Today we are trying to get a septic professional out there to assess all the damages. And depending on what they find, we hope to get things fixed before the end of the day on Wednesday. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it just makes my heart sink every time I think about how these auctioneers wronged us. Not only did they not care about our complaints at all, we caught them talking about us behind our backs about how we were making a big deal out of nothing. Ha!

Mom is here spending her entire Spring Break helping us pack and (hopefully) move. If we don't get to close as scheduled, I'm afraid her time will have been wasted. Sorry, Mom.
